ELSA – European Loan Service of Aesculap provides a comprehensive range of instruments, implants as well as supportive and wide-ranging solutions for different surgical operations. This means that ELSA is your partner when you need surgical equipment quickly, when you need to overcome bottlenecks in clinics, and for long-term trial orders of specific systems. Numerous variants are available for a wide range of different therapy areas. Implant systems for primary hip and knee replacement operations and reoperations. systems for interlocking nailing and spine surgery, and special revision instrument sets. The loan sets are checked and prepared in accordance with our high quality standards. In addition to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Aesculap supplies loan instruments to all of Europe.

Ordering and shipping

You can request the loan sets depending on availability – at the latest 24 hours before the surgery. The requested loan set with the corresponding instruments and implants will be put together and securely packed for you by the loan service itself. Aesculap sends the loan set ready for reprocessing directly to your clinic by express delivery. Detailed instructions for preparing the set are provided in the information folder enclosed with the loan set. After sterilization, the instruments you ordered will be ready for you in good time before the start of surgery. Digital handover and connection to selected packing systems in the clinics also supports the rapid reading in and provision of ELSA systems on site.

Return

After their use, the instruments are washed, sterilized and prepared for collection by the clinic. After a short notification, the pick-up and return transport will be organized for you by ELSA loan service. The Aesculap loan service checks the set and usually only bills for the implant components used. If no implants are used or if special instruments are involved, a supply fee is charged. In any case: loaning implant and instrument systems from Aesculap significantly widens the range of surgical treatments possible.
