Interoperability for better clinical data management

Our interoperability solution facilitates easy integration of B. Braun pumps into electronic medical record (EMR) and patient data management system (PDMS) via the hospital’s IT network. DoseLink^plus, the new interoperability solution operating through theOnlineSuite^plusplatform, uses standardized HL7/IHE protocols for patient care devices and allows bi-directional communication⁴with the Space^plusInfusomat and Perfusor.

The System provides:

AutoDocumentation for real-time communication of both infusion and device-related data plus alarm information
AutoProgramming⁴ of the pump with the right medication, right dose, right time and right route for the right patient(all verified by the EMR system via barcode scanning)

Faithful to our mission of providing advanced interoperability solutions, we continue to work on future-oriented standards such as Service-oriented Device Connectivity⁵(SDC, according to IEEE 11073) to enable new applications and solutions.

Encrypted communication enables data security

With its integrated OnlineSuite^plus backend solution, the Space^plus infusion pump system provides secure, bi-directional communication with the pumps. This enables state-of-the-art remote update management, including device configuration and software deployment.

At the same time, the connection to the OnlineSuite^plusis the basis for powerful and standard-conform connectivity to third-party systems using the HL7 interface App DoseLink^plus. The DoseLink^plus

app enables bi-directional delivery of pump data to multiple endpoints and ensures that no information is lost through its use of secure, encrypted, end-to-end data transmission within the hospital network.
